Washington, D.C. : The Iraq War was sold to Americans in part as an intervention that would benefit Iraqis, "liberating" them from the despotic rule of Saddam Hussein. In retrospect, after no weapons of mass destruction were found and the alleged links to Al-Qaeda were debunked, this supposed humanitarian mission became the central justification for the invasion. Today, it is a major pillar of what support remains among the U.S. public for continuing the occupation was what FAIR, Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, opined when President Obama declared Tuesday 31 August that War in Iraq was over.

FAIR, an independent Think Tank which scrutinizes the US media said: If Americans are to make informed judgments not only about the invasion of Iraq and whether the occupation should continue, but also about future wars our government may wish to start, then we need to have good information about the war's impact on Iraqis.

Washington, D.C. : If Asian Tribune reveals to you that one of the signatories to the 9 August (2010) ‘war crimes’ petition forwarded to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by 57 US Congressmen did not have the faintest idea of Pol/Mil developments in Sri Lanka during its battle against separatist Tamil Tigers and the resultant scenario something is wrong somewhere in Sri Lanka’s overseas public diplomacy and strategic communication which is most vital at this state to combat vicious global propaganda against it.

The seriousness is that the organizers of this petition harnessed the ignorance of this Congresswoman to sign it on the pretext of promoting human rights in a Third World nation which happened to be Sri Lanka which is battling misinterpretations, blatant lies, misrepresentations and half-truths arising out of its battle against the separatist Tamil Tigers and resultant human rights, crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide issues.

ඒ අනුව කොළඹ පිහිටි විදේශ රැකියා අයතනයක් මාර්ගයෙන් 2010 මාර්තු මාසයේදී ඇය සෞදි අරාබිය බලා පිටත්ව ගියේ එම අරමුණ සාර්ථක කරගැනීම උදෙසාය.

සෞදියේ රියාද් නුවර පිහිටි සුවිසල් නිවසක ගෘහ සේවිකාවක් ලෙසින් ඇයව සේවයට යොමු කළ අතර එහි නිවෙස් හිමියා, ඔහුගේ බිරිඳ හා දරුවන් පස් දෙනෙකු වාසය කළේය. එම නිවසේ රැකියාවට ගොස් මුල් දින කිහිපයේදී ගෙහිමියන් ආරියවතී මහත්මියට හොඳින් සැලකූවත් ටික කාලයක් ගතවන විට එම තත්වය වෙනස් විය.

Washington, D.C. : The release of the CIA secret memorandum about foreign perception of the United States on Wednesday 25 August seems to be a message its founder/handler Julian Assange sent to the Pentagon that his organization’s works cannot be derailed by the Swedish legal issues surrounding him nor be cowed by Pentagon threats.

The release is the first classified U.S. document published by WikiLeaks since the Pentagon formally demanded Aug. 5 that WikiLeaks delete its entire cache of classified material, which could also include 260,000 State Department diplomatic cables, and a log of events from the Iraq/Afghan war theater containing 500,000 documents. Both were purportedly leaked by now-imprisoned Army intelligence analyst Bradley Manning.

However the CIA played down the release of the February classified memorandum, a so-called "red cell" analysis that is supposed to provide an alternative view to the spy agency's leaders.

Washington, D.C. : WIKILEAKS does it again : This time it just released a SECRET//NOFORN CIA RED CELL Special Memorandum dated 5 February 2010 how the United States engaged in exporting terrorism to other nations.

This CIA ”Red Cell” report from February 2, 2010, looks at what will happen if it is internationally understood that the United States is an exporter of terrorism; ’Contrary to common belief, the American export of terrorism or terrorists is not a recent phenomenon, nor has it been associated only with Islamic radicals or people of Middle Eastern, African or South Asian ethnic origin” says the CIA Secret Memo.

This dynamic belies the American belief that America’s free, open and integrated multicultural society lessens the allure of radicalism and terrorism for US citizens.

Washington, D.C. : The United States government last Friday August 20, after a long ten-year gap, submitted to the UN Human Rights Council the Universal Periodic Review – a self evaluation of its own human rights record required under the UN Charter – acknowledging the need for improvement in several key areas but concealed many human rights violations it committed in its ‘war against global terrorism’ which have been under severe scrutiny and criticism by many global rights organizations.

The 29-page report gives the reader the impression of America’s remarkable complacency about its own war crimes and human rights abuses while officially encouraging other nations to improve their record and pressing them for greater openness and transparency.

The likelihood of terrorists with naval capabilities, resorting to piracy becomes a distinct possibility, stated Sri Lanka's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr. Palitha Kohona, speaking at the Security Council Debate on “The Situation in Somalia – Piracy” yesterday (25 August 2010).

Gaps in the counter measures undertaken at present and due to its lucrative financial advantages, piracy could soon spread its vicious tentacles to other regions, endangering sea lanes and global communications, he stressed.

A collective and a more dedicated international effort must be made to deal with piracy and must ensure that the global community is rid of this problem, Dr. Kohona added.

Julian Assange, the 39-year-old Australian founder of Wikileaks, is definitely on a trajectory to the stardom in the world of whistle-blowers; moreover, if he manages to overcome ever-growing friction against what he is good at, he can even reach the enlightment in the sphere of absolute truth.

There is no better space-time dimension for Mr Assange to reach either of the two states, now that he is in Sweden. This is a country that can boast about an eruption of very intense activity of Aurora Borealis – the Northern Lights – at the moment, prompted by the hyperactivity of the Sun. So, he is at the right place and at the right time indeed, to receive an optimal dose of inspiration for his next feat – releasing more classified information in the form of leaks to amplify the anger felt by the US by a few more indices.

Advertising boomed making it possible for consumers to be enticed into believing there were miracle cures or drugs that would make people look young forever, increase sexual libido, maintain youthful looking skin with zero after effects or side effects.
