හමුදාවේ සේවය කරන ලොක්කෙක් කියපු විදියට
ආණ්ඩුව හදපු කතාවක් ලු.අඩු ගානේ මේගොල්ලෝ
ඉන්දියාවේ අම්බසි එකටවත් මේගැන දන්වල නැහැ.
මෙරටේ දෙස පාලුවෝ කෙලින්නේ පිස්සු.මොකද මුන්
ඉගෙනගෙන නැහැනේ.
රටේ අහිංසක ජනයාව ගොනාට අන්දවනවා.දවසක
ගඩාෆිට උනදේ මුන්ටත් වුනොත් පුදුම වෙන්න එපා.

බොහොම හොද කතාවක් , නමුත් අපේ
අල්ලේ හාමුදුරුවෝ ඔය හොර – බොරු
පොලිස් කොමිසමෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වෙන්නේ නැත්තේ
මොකද? ඔය කොමිසමට කිසිම බලයක් නැති
නිකම්ම නිකම් හිස් කොමිසමක්.ඔකේ ඉදීමෙන්
අපේ හාමුදුරුවන්ගේ නම නිකම් සවුත්තු වෙනවා
ජනදිපතිගේ පන්දම් කාරයෙක් කියල.

Gangodavila Soma Thero is basically my idol when it comes to modern Bhikku role models.Yet it’s dubious whether most of the Buddhists in the country remember what happened to him or the dangerous position that we are in at the moment as Buddhists.There are strong influences from the church to the education sector even.Recently they have come to an agreement with the chief minister of western province as the departure of a Catholic or Christian teacher in a school will be filled only by another one of the same religion.Catholic sisters are appointed to schools from nowhere to schools with a Buddhist majority in Western province(no idea about other provinces);religious conversions and they try to stir up other Catholic teachers against the Buddhists;these efforts are rampant towards Moratuwa area where the famous ‘Prem Nivasa’ incident took place.
